Draw & Pass

Loading the game…

Telephone with drawings. It is not about who draws best, but about what is left of the line at the end.

How to play

Back to the game

In short

  • Everyone starts with a word or a short line that can be drawn.
  • It moves on: the next player draws it, and the one after describes the drawing without seeing the original.
  • Drawing and describing take turns until each chain has gone round the table. At the end you look at the album together.

With friends by code

Play with friends creates a room, and friends join with its code or QR code. Four to twelve can play, at most eight in kids mode. The computer can take free seats.

  • Everyone starts their own chain and works on a different one in every step. There are as many steps as players, at most eight.
  • The starting word and each description are picked from six words, nobody types. In standard mode the host can turn on Write your own lines in the waiting room; this is not possible in kids mode.
  • You have 45 seconds for a word or a description and 90 for a drawing. A step ends early when everyone is done. If you run out of time, the computer fills in a word for you and an unfinished drawing is handed on as it is.
  • While the step is running you can still edit what you handed in.
  • Your own line has at most 40 characters. The game does not accept links, contacts, phone numbers or rude words, and tells you why.

On one phone

For three to twelve players. The first writes a line and passes the phone; the next only sees the line and draws it. The one after only sees the drawing and describes it. When the phone comes back, you look at the whole chain. For children you can pick words instead of typing.

With the computer

A game for one with four rounds. In each round you first describe the computer’s drawing, then draw the word it gives you and see how the computer drew the same thing. At the end there is an album of all the drawings.

Controls

Draw with a finger, mouse or pen. Next to the canvas you choose a colour, a size and the eraser, Undo takes back the last stroke and the bin clears the whole drawing. On a keyboard the arrow keys move the pen and Space puts it down or lifts it. In the album, use the buttons or the arrow keys.

Safety

There is no chat in the game. Lines and drawings are only seen by the players in the room and are not saved after the game. If someone writes or draws something that does not belong in the game, report them with the flag next to their name: their last two drawings, their lines and the room events are kept for 30 days so we can check the report. After two reports the room closes.
